Dr Ian Geraghty

Dr Ian Geraghty Ian has 17 years professional experience in the display and framing of artworks, working for a wide range of organizations including commercial galleries, public institutions and framing studios in London and Sydney. His first framing position was Gallery and Framing Technician (1994-99) for The Portland Gallery, London.

In 2008, Ian completed a PhD with his thesis titled: 'The Reconfigured Frame: Various Forms and Functions of the Physical Frame in Contemporary Art'. He regularly presents papers and guest lectures on framing theory at conferences and universities in Australia and overseas. He also runs the Picture Framing Essentials course at the Sydney Community College.

Ian joined ASA as a full-time team member in 2008.
