How healthy is your framed artwork?
Conservation framing uses materials and techniques that contribute to the longevity and beauty
of your valued original artwork, photographs and objects.
  To achieve this we use:
Museum quality, 100% cotton mount boards and backing boards
All components of Rag Mat Board are completely acid-free and do not contain alum or lignin.
Cotton is used to make the finest types of paper and mat boards because it is the purest form of natural cellulose. Rag is strong, requires less processing, has a history of performance and it is an annually renewable resource, making it a better product for our planet.
All mounting of artwork is fully reversible
Material used for mounting will not negatively affect the artwork
All mounting of artwork is carried out in fully reversible processes. The characteristic of all material used for mounting is such that it will not stain or negatively affect the artwork.
Acrylic glazing which blocks up to 99% UV light
In most cases 99% UV blocking acrylic sheet glazing is recommended.
Acrylic glazing contains UV blockers for extreme colour protection. It is significantly more break-resistant then conventional picture glazing and is also only half as heavy.
Alternatively museum grade UV blocking glass or non-reflective glass can be used.
      Polypropylene backing material
All frames are sealed with a polypropylene backing material called Coreflute®, which acts as a moisture barrier to protect your artwork.
      Highest quality hanging systems
Stainless steel coated wire fixed with crimped sleeves are used with safe adjustable D-rings.
Felt bump-ons on bottom corners are fitted to provide airflow between the wall space and the frame while protecting the wall finish and cushion the frame.
Close co-operation with qualified art conservators
We work in close co-operation with qualified conservators, as in many cases the artwork will benefit from treatment.
